Dr. Carl D. Gilbert named dean of the College of Sciences
Dr. Carl D. Gilbert was named dean of the College of Sciences in June. Gilbert received his B.S. in zoology from the University of Arkansas. He holds a Master of Science degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree, both in microbiology, from the University of Arkansas. Gilbert was a faculty member at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith since 2006, and served as the department head of sciences from 2007 to 2010. In 2010 the department divided and Dr. Gilbert became department head of the newly formed department of biological sciences. Prior to his tenure at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, Gilbert served on the faculty at the University of Louisiana-Monroe.
